Janhvi Kapoor Opens Up About Receiving Hate Online; Says, ‘Association With Dharma Productions Made Me An Easy Target’
Janhvi Kapoor shares being launched by Karan Johar’s Dharma Production made her an easy target to hate but she doesn’t regret it
Bollywood actress Janhvi Kapoor is one of the younger star kids who are often trolled for anything and everything. It is often seen that the comment sections of her social media posts are filled with hate, no matter what she does.
From fashion, brand promotions to her gym looks and movies, people love to troll her, mainly because she is a ‘product of nepotism.’ During a recent interaction with Bollywood Life, the 25-year-old opened up about the faceless trolls and why she feels she receives hate from the internet. She said that it might be because of her association with Karan Johar and his production house, Dharma. ALSO READ: WHAT! The actress, who made her Bollywood debut with Dhadak, a remake of the critically acclaimed Marathi movie Sairat, said, "I think it comes with the fact that Dharma is such an iconic production house. I have realised whatever people say, the kind of curiosity and reach that Dharma has and the kind of interest it piques in audiences may be unparalleled. Yeah, it has added a certain amount of pressure and also made me a target that is easy to hate."
However, she doesn’t regret her decision to make her debut with the production house, as it gave her career a boost and gave her confidence. Praising the creativity of Karan as a filmmaker, she shared, "But I will never, for a moment, regret it because what Dharma and Karan have given me makes me feel so unbelievably lucky and privileged. It’s more than that. If you know Karan and what that production house stands for, more than anything it’s creative decisions and a man’s creative vision that he sticks by. And I have so much respect. More than anything, it’s given me confidence and love and guidance from a maker like Karan."
